Member Taste Panel
Become a Recipe Tester

Online Rating: (8.5/10)

PrintEmail

For each issue of Cooking Club, five members are selected to test recipes and give us their feedback as part of the Club’s Member Taste Panel. Many of their comments are published in the magazine, alongside the recipes. If you’d like to become a recipe tester, fill out the form below; you’ll be notified by e-mail if selected. Panel members each test four recipes.

I love to cook and try new recipes. I think it would be great if I could compare what I thought was a good recipe to someone elses opinion. I think I am a great cook and would be honored to be selected to be a recipe tester. I tried also using the form but there was no place to submit so I am also including it here.

I left a comment on the first part of this sign-up. Once again I feel that cooking new recipes and being able to exchange my views and finding of that recipe is beneficial to myself and whoever might read my findings. If comments from the viewers are available we would both benefit. Thank You for an opportunity to join the Cooking Club, Margie

just love receipes! I collect cookbooks and enjoy browsing and trying the recipes out of the books I collect. My husband has noticed my passion and fascination with cooking and has become interested in cooking himself. He's always been the one to sit back and enjoy the food; now he enjoys preparing food as well. Becoming a receipe tester would give me the opportunity to express my feeling about certain recipes and add them to my collection.

I've been cooking professionally almost 30 years, at restaurants, then for a small home with 6 residents and up to 4 staff. I know my way around a recipe and kitchen and think I could offer good comments on directions or flavors. I like to try new ideas and add them to my knowledge of good food.

I grew up learning to cook from my mother (who by the way was very good at making a meal stretch to feed however many were present for a meal) and was a very good cook. My immediate family has 15 in it so I had to cook for a lot of people and I always had a lot of pride in seeing people enjoy whatever it was that I cooked. We actually made up a cookbook of members of my mother's family's recipes to sell and make money for a family reunion which we have every 3 years in Boise, Idaho. As you can probably tell I am very proud of my family heritage.

I have found your past reviewers comments interesting and helpful in the past and would like to participate. Since there is no place to click to submit this form, I'm adding it to comments. The low site rating is because of that. Hope this gets where it is suppose to go.

I like the challange of trying new things. My Husband and my 7 year old son are eager for me to make new exciting recipes or improve on some of the good old tried and true recipes with a new twist. My 7 year old likes to help with the cooking he is becoming a good helper and since he is included in the cooking I think he is more willing to try new thing to see just what they taste like and not immediately have the attitude yuck I don't like or want that to eat. Helping do the coking has made him a less pickey eater.

Hi, I enjoy trying different foods and recipes and think it would be great to share my feedback with all the members on different recipes. I'd be happy to give feedback on what the recipe tasted like, how easy or difficult it was to make, maybe if you wanted, I could even share what I might change, add or delete in the recipe to enhance it, or give variations of the recipe so members would have a choice in making the recipe. Plus I just think it would be fun to share the recipes with my family They're always wanting me to try new recipes so they can eat new and different things. They are my best critics in giving me a thumbs up or thumbs down! My 18 year old is really interested in cooking also, and will be going to college in the future, and is wanting to learn how to cook so he won't starve when he's away from home...so this would also be good for him, too. He'd get new recipes to cook and share with his roommates, and as you probably already know, guys always have hollow legs and tummy's and love to E-A-T...hahaha!!! I'd really like to be selected and would love to try out your recipes. Most of All I really enjoy cooking for family and friends. I'm a new member and am anxious and excited to get involved fully in our Cooking Club! Thanks for your time and efforts in Picking Me. It's a pleasure joining you in this Cooking Club adventure!

There are many reasons that I would like to be a tester. I like trying new things. The variety and combinations of items you can use in one recipe to cange the taste and appearence of old recipes is fantastic. I would appreciate being picked so that I may be one of those persons changing old recipes into new ones.

I came from a family of nine children and I was the oldest girl. By the time I was eleven I could cook an entire meal on my own. My mother was a great teacher.

I LOVE to cook and bake- but it's only myself and my husband... I don't have enough people to cook for- and I have more time now than ever before. Please give me a reason to cook and bake!

This would be great because I love most foods and love to try new things. It would also give me great chance to voice my opinions on foods. I love to try new things I come up with and this would give me great ideas for my family.

My family is quite adventurous whern it comes to trying new recipe's They have come to expect someting new at meal-time. Even my daughter-inlaw has begun to experiment with my new recipe's. She's becoming quite the cook. We like to cook together now and it has brought us closer as a family. She realy feels as if she belongs now. Thank you.

i also could not find the submit button to be a recipe tester, but would enjoy it. I find that sometimes you can add your own spin on a recipe and regive the recipe back to a friend and get their reaction on your take. I am a new member and i am enjoying everything this club has to offer and hoping to get lots of new, simple and tasty recipes.

I have never been a recipe tester. I believe it would be fun to try new recipes. My family is getting bored with the foods I cook and, frankly, so am I. I would love to learn how to flavor foods without using salt/MSG/substitute salt! It's like uniquorn wrote on 6/13/2008, "I lack imagination and don't want to die from boredom"!!! After I read that, I chuckled. I thought, I couldn't say it any better than that.

There is no link to send the information that is required to be filled out at the top of this "Become a Recipe Tester" form??? And it seems a lot of other members have noticed this and written it in the comments above. SO my very serious suggestion are to who or whom ever monitors this particular page. Perhaps you should either fix the page or let your members know how to really sign up to become "A Recipe Tester!" I am a life time member and I find this situation to be totally unexceptable, especially when you consider that I am paying dues to be a member of a fully functioning cooking club! Aileen Dodge

It appears that there has long been a problem with submitting this form. I love to cook and to try new recipes. I'll eat nearly anything and the only things I can think of that I don't care for are lima beans, sage and rosemary. I do not drink alcohol in any form. My only allergy is to all artificial sweeteners, including "the yellow one," but I am not certain about Stevia. I love inviting a friend over to cook (in my tiny kitchen) and to try a new recipe, and then sit down to a great meal together. I am a life member and would like to take advantage of as much as the club has to offer. (20274176)

This isn't an article, it is a form to register to be a recipe tester. But when I fill it out, there is no where to send it and no matter what I do, the form just clears. If you do not want recipe testers, please do not put the form on the website. Otherwise, would you please correct this proble. It has been like this for months. Thanks!
