Each year, we select a few members to act as liaisons between the online member community and the Club. You'll probably be familiar with two of them, who are returning for another year, but we're excited to welcome a new face, too! Scroll down to meet this year's Ambassadors.
Mike Christenson (michealjc)
If you’re craving an omelet, ask Mike to fix it! This five-time Ambassador gets two thumbs up for the ones he makes. “Once I did get three thumbs up from a friend who had two thumbs on one hand,” he adds.
The secret to Mike’s amazing omelets remains undisclosed, but one ingredient he’s proud to tout for other recipes is the spice blend Hog Wild. “A lady sells it at the flea market,” he says. “I’ve bought so much that she now sells it to me by the case only. I even use it on chicken.”
Not only are Mike’s cooking skills remarkable, but so are his hopes for the future of kitchen technology. He says he longs for “an oven that would keep food cold all day long, and when I wanted it to start cooking, I could call it on my cell phone.”
And while he looks forward to the future, Mike also values the past. His most treasured kitchen item is a three-piece milk pitcher collection: one from his mother, one from his grandmother and one from his great-grandmother.
Melinda Ebert (mindo210)
Planning a trip to Europe any time soon? Take our newest Ambassador’s advice and sample the cold, creamy treats of Italy. “I like the ice cream!,” Melinda says. “It doesn’t seem to be overbearing in the sweet department but has a fresh, homemade flavor every time.”
If your travel includes a trip to Melinda’s house, however, don’t expect to see any rags by her sink. When asked what kitchen item she’d hide from visitors, she replied, “My dishcloths! I need new ones.”
You’d have better luck finding a great salad at her place. “I’ve been on a kick of lettuce salads with different toppings and making my own dressings this spring,” Melinda says. “It’s lots of fun! I didn’t realize how easy dressing is to make until now.”
Lloyd D. Hoffman (lloyd338)
This is Lloyd’s 10-year anniversary as a member, so we can count on his favorites to add up to something special.
ONE treasured kitchen item: “That’s easy—Mom’s cast-iron waffle iron. I have an electric waffle maker, somewhere, but nothing makes waffles as good that that iron one does.”
TWO guilty edible pleasures: “That’s got to be chocolate and strawberries. I make a chocolate-strawberry pie that will knock your socks off. But it will never pass for healthy eating.”
THREE indispensable ingredients: “Thyme, rosemary and garlic. With those three, and a little onion and bacon, you could make cardboard taste good.”

Hi Tricia! Welcome to the club. I don't have any recipes to share with you, but if you go little further down on the forum you will find more categories to choose from. Find one close to your topic such as canning or something of that sort and post your question there or you might try the everthing but cooking spot. It's great to have you here and I hope to hear from you again! With God, ALL things are POSSIBLE! Keep cooking!
