Yesterday Oct. 25th was two months until Christmas day.  I haven't started shopping....better yet, I haven't thought about shopping.  Anyone start their shopping yet?

I am just about finished. Three more to go but I'm having trouble making up my mind. Oh, and I also have to get a Christmas ornament.

I am jut about finished except for my 8 year old grandson.  He is still working on his list.  Buying for him is the most fun...and also takes most of our funds.  He might just be a little bit spoiled.  Also need to pick up a few gift cards but usually wait until the last minute for them.  So hard to believe it's a little less than 2 months before the big day is here.  Time sure goes faster the older I get.

I'm with you, Margie. I haven't even started. However, we've cut back a lot on gifts the last few years. My college granddaughter will be emailing some ideas soon .. and since her birthday is New Year's .. its Christmas AND birthday gifts for her! Some of the others get checks; some small gifts also. But Christmas cards are time-consuming .. we do NOT like the mass printed notes of what has happened all year. But having moved so many times over the years and not living near any of our families ... or very good friends .... we try to write a bit to each. That DOES take time and thought. But when we hear back (and many do!) that is very nice.

I have to admit that I got done early because I decided to regift this year. I am returning the gifts that I received from each kid last year. Looks like they are getting nothing. At least it's easy to wrap.

Shopping? Christmas Shopping???
If L.L. Bean is still in business or Taste of Home than a quick looksee on the net and My Bride will have another Sweater or Sweat shirt or something like that. Since I do not have a vehicle to drive around and waste gas with I tend to use the internet a lot. When I do manage to go out to stores My Bride is with me and one cannot shop to well when one's Bride's nose is peering over ones shoulder. Kinda puts a damper on things!! Besides my idea of shopping is strictly Sam's Club, Costco or Super Wally World.  Right now I have to worry about obtaining a Birthday card for her, I will accomplish that even if I have to walk all of the way into town and back.

I also do tend to make my own Christmas Gifts, It means more when it is handmade.
I am working on a new Cherry dresser for her anyway, six drawers are finished and only two to go and those will be the big ones. Since I am dovetailing the drawers it tends to take a little more time. I also do not need to glue the drawers as the dovetails are that tight. Maybe some day I will post pictures of some of the furniture that I have built.

I Love cooking with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food!! Money isn't everything but it sure keeps the kids and grandchildren in touch !!

The Christmas commercials are on TV like crazy now.  Even simple commercials have Christmas music.  I still haven't started yet.  I'm with you Lloyd, I'm thinking about Thanksgiving right now.  Do one holiday at a time here.  I spoke to one friend who finished Christmas shopping in June (!).  My ideas on gifts are coming to me.  Making gifts mean alot more to people.  May make something and ship it to family in other states.
