Q: What’s the best way to chop a bell pepper?

A: First, start by coring the pepper. Slice off the top and bottom of the pepper; reserve the bottom, which can be chopped separately. Then cut a slit in the pepper and begin to run the knife around the inner edge, cutting off the veins and leaving the core and seeds in the center.

Then, for efficiency, stack sections of the pepper and slice or chop them.

I always run the blade of knife (paring knife) just below the stem going around. Take hold of the stem and twist, the core with seeds should come out very easily. Loosened seeds come out with a tap on bottom of bell pepper. Decide for rings or chopped.

I agree with DISDATNSAMMO...The tip above seems rather wasteful. When you run a pairing knife around the base of the stem you aren't watting all of the top and bottom prpper. It also works for a variety of peppers. Pablano, all bell peppers and chilli peppers.

I agree with using a paring knife . I learned a different way in cooking school but I do it my way. LOT less waste.
