I have trouble with the tool that they recommend for the job so I'm going to try this especially since my seam ripper is sitting idle. Thanks for the hint!

Oh man someone stole my secret. this is how I always devein shrimp. I just didn't want to admit it, it does sound funny and looks funny. My family thought I was crazy for doing it this way.

I live in Louisiana, we just peel a very small portion, pinch the tail and the whole thing comes off.....this seems longer, I have had to peel ice chests at a time, this would take too long
