These aromatic spiced walnuts are slightly sweet with a delightfully crisp texture. Serve alone or pair them with other foods, particularly cheeses and fruit.
1 egg white
3 cups (12 oz.) walnut halves
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Heat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheet with foil. Whisk egg white in medium bowl until frothy. Add walnuts; toss to coat thoroughly.
2. In small bowl, stir together sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cumin and salt; sprinkle over walnuts. Stir to coat evenly; spread on baking sheet.
3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and toasted. Nuts will crispen as they cool. (Nuts can be made up to 2 days ahead. Store in airtight container.)
