Life member Sue Hall has been cooking for her family since she was 8 years old. Now a great-grandmother, she’s still experimenting with new recipes. These deviled eggs are always served at family gatherings, she says. They’re a particular favorite of her husband, who likes spicy foods.
6 hard-cooked eggs, halved lengthwise
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño chile slices, minced
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons minced cilantro
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash chile powder
Carefully remove yolks from whites. Mash yolks with pastry blender or fork in small bowl until smooth; stir in all remaining ingredients except chile powder. Spoon or pipe mixture into whites; lightly sprinkle with chile powder.
