Yea I looked on there to, and that's a little too high for me right now.  If I were to spend $1000 or more I want one on a trailer.

We have a Cabela's about 10 minutes away, over by the KS Speedway.  I figure it would be a good place to go look at them, so I can see exactly what they look like, but I doubt I'll buy one there,  I've been there once seems kind of pricey for me.

It's what you want in a smoker. As for me i have a brinkman that does me very well. And it only cost about 145.00. An i have had a lot of meat in it at one time . It is gas but they sell charcoal also.

I bought the Bradley 6 rack electric from Cabelas four months ago. We LOVE it. Use it all the time. Made a couple awesome meatloafs in it for friends last night. Best meatloaf I've ever made. Today I'm making a large, whole chicken. I keep a journal and write down exactly how I prepared the food, mop sauce/brine/dryrub/marinade; cooking temperatures and times; type of wood chip; how it turned out and what I would do different next time; etc..... I find it very useful. I don't have anything to compare my Bradley to since it is the first I've ever owned, but I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Jeff, I will get back with you later, been real busy,but always willing to help another BBQUER. Mine is on a trailer and by having my son and a friend do the welding, it was under $1200.00 but then it is going on 20 years and still cooks great. I think I got my monies worth out of it.

No hurry, I was just commenting on how long it's been since there was a reply on here. I have recently purchased a American Gourmet Deluxe Offset. I still need to do the mods on it before I do anything major though. I am hoping to get a pull behind sometime soon, I hope.

I have a Great Smoky Mountain gas smoker with three racks and I love it! I put a low-pressure regulator on the propane hose at the bottle and can control the temp within 1-2 degrees. I use hickory, pecan and mesquite wood chunks depending on what I am smoking. My buddy has an electric smoker and although controlling the temp is much eaiser (set it and forget it,) the last turkey he did came out dry as a bone. My gas smoker has never dried out anything, even the small chicken wings I do pretty often. Mine cost about $139 at Walmart. It all depends on what you are willing to spend.

Never had much luck or good success using just the gas grill. I do use that for cold smoking my cheese. I use the tin can/soldering iron/wood pellet method for cheeses. Be sure and cover the gas grill with a blanket or beach towel and plug any holes or vents to keep the smoke inside the grill cover. Your cheese will be done to perfection in about an hour using this method.

Now i would like to try that method of smokeing cheese. That sounds like a fun thing to do tell me more Pleaseeeeee.

I cook on the KCBS Barbecue Circuit and the only smoker I use is The Weber Smokey Mountain. It is a bullet smoker but it is bettewr than al the other bullets because it seals up really tight and you can control temp with 3 vents on the charcoal bowl and on in the dome. It has 2- 18.5 inch racks and uses a water pan below the racks for temp. control. Whenyou get good at using it they will hold temp for 12 hours on 15 pounds of charcoal,they run about 299.00 for the 18.5 and they have a 22.5 model for around 399.00 the best thing about them, they are made by Weber a proven name in grills and smokers. There is a website desingnated just for the smoker called The Virtual Weber Bullet go check it out if you are interested.

 On the subjectt of smokers i have a brinkman that i love . Look at gander mountin. If you want to take the fun out of it . there is one out there that has a window and is elictric Set it and forget it .
