cover 2 looks refreshing and in August in PA....it is HOT so I really don't want to be in the kitchen too long baking pies....cover 1 makes me think of a hot stove...means HOT kitchen.

Cover 2 is summer. When I look at both pictures, the sandwich photo is what makes me picture a summer night by the pool with my family. In Fla. it is essential to stay out of the kitchen in the summer.

Cover 2 - like the angle of the shot
Monday, June 07, 2010 3:41 PM
Cover 1 is rustic, easy and beautiful -- perfect for summer. Yum!
Monday, June 07, 2010 5:09 PM
COVER ONE IS APPEALING DUE TO USE OF FRESH FRUIT AND PROMISE OF MEXICAN RECIPES.
Monday, June 07, 2010 7:27 PM
Cover 1 makes me think of dessert after a picnic. One change I would make though is to change the color of the words "garden zucchini" from green to red. Otherwise the cover gives a summer feeling.

cover 2 is awesome! looks more like summertime. The pie makes me think of the holiday's. Sheesh summer barely beginning! I dont want to think of holiday cooking yet.

cover 1 looks really yummy. I like baking summer or winter. Pies are always a winner at dinner parties.

I had no hesitation at all in choosing cover number 2. It looks so appealing and refreshing to me. Seems as everyone else feels the same!
Tuesday, June 08, 2010 12:22 PM
The reason I like cover 2 is because, when the hot weather is here, I would like to make something simple. Also it would leave me more time for me to enjoy the weather and not have to be in a hot kitchen cooking meals.

As a southern person i love cover 2. The pic shows use of veggies, which u can grill, bake, stir fry, or even be raw. depending on your prefrances. i think this sandwich would be a great griller out @ the lake.

cover 2...sandwiches are a great way to keep the kitchen cool in the summertime...the cover really screams summer.
Tuesday, June 08, 2010 5:53 PM
I would eat what is on cover 1 rather than cover 2.
Tuesday, June 08, 2010 7:03 PM
Cover 1 looks more appealing and appetizing. Cover 2 is tried and true.and therefore rather boring.

I love pies. Whether its an apple pie or pizza pie I enjoy making them.
Wednesday, June 09, 2010 9:11 AM
Cover 2...The sandwich looks crisp, cool and delicious.
Wednesday, June 09, 2010 2:26 PM
Cover 1 for Aug/Sep makes a person think of apple orchards and of course apple pie.
Wednesday, June 09, 2010 3:09 PM
Both covers are awesome but I think cover 2 is the right one for leading into fall!

i like cover #1 because the pie looks more appealing to me than the sandwich. the sandwich looks cool and represents the cool side of summer but it looks as if it was made in a hurry and thrown together. the pie looks more together and you can tell whoever made it took the time to make it look real appealing.

Cover #2 is very Appealing and Colorful! TX is very "Hot" in Aug/Sep months. The Sandwich looks absolutely Delicious, and promotes less time in the kitchen for more time spent on the Patio entertaining.......

August and September are our hottest months. Spending time in the kitchen cooking, and especially baking, is out of question. Grilling and sandwiches is the way to go. Cover number 2 grabs my attention.

I voted for Cover 2, but the peach pie looks absolutely scrumptious, so it was a hard choice to make. Reading what everyone else is saying about the covers, definitely Cover 2 is more evocative of spending less time in a hot kitchen, and more time out in the yard, or at a picnic/beach setting, rather than having to fire up a stove or (gasp) oven in the late summer heat.

cover 2. sandwiches for dinner not heavy fried foods. then pie! lol
Thursday, June 10, 2010 1:54 PM
Sandwiches can be made at any time of year. But Cover 2 says fresh fruit that only summer brings!

Cover 2 is more appealing for late mid to late summer because Cover 1 requires a hot oven..Yuck!
Friday, June 11, 2010 5:29 PM
Cover 1 looks like an exciting yummy creation. Cover 2 looks like something you could pick up at the sub shop.

COVER 1 FOR SURE - LOVED THE PIX OF THE FRESH PIE. SANDWICHES AREN'T REALLY APPEALING TO ME, AMKES ME THINK MORE OF LUNCH THAN DINNER. GOTTA LOVE THAT FRESH PIE THOUGH.
Saturday, June 12, 2010 4:02 PM
I prefer cover 1 as I bake a lot of pies & don't make fancy sandwiches
Saturday, June 12, 2010 6:19 PM
the pie looks great, the sandwich doesn't even look good to me.
Sunday, June 13, 2010 3:23 PM
i prefer the sandwich cover to be more appealing as summer is here & i'm always looking for something cool to eat, easy to prepare & is lighter on the stomache.
Sunday, June 13, 2010 10:08 PM
Summer pies and tarts are always good, but for me to pick up the magazine, Cool...fresh...easy. Enough said.
Monday, June 14, 2010 12:22 AM
Cover 2; implies a cool refreshing picnic dinner for a hot summer night. A baked tart, means a hot oven & hot kitchen.
Monday, June 14, 2010 8:03 AM
Cover 2 looks more healthy. LOL
Friday, June 18, 2010 5:56 PM
Cover 1 looks summery with the peaches. I bake summer or winter and when peaches are in season (summer) it is a great time to bake a rustic pie.

I choose cover #1 because fruits and vegetables are being harvested and it is a time for canning for the upcoming winter. I think the picture should be more about canning and how to put things in the freezer. The recipes for pies could be on the cover for late September and through the holidays.
