Q: Why do some recipes tell you to remove the seeds from a tomato? What's the best way to do this?

A: Removing seeds from tomatoes usually is done to improve the texture and appearance of a dish. The easiest way to remove them is to slice the tomato in half crosswise and squeeze the halves gently; the seeds will slide out. Use your fingers or a small spoon to scoop out any remaining seeds.

Wow! I've been cooking a long time, but no one could ever tell me how to get rid of the tomato seeds when it was necessary.
Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion. I"m not able to digest the seeds, but would like to have tomatoes in my salad, pasta and other veggie dishes.

Thank you again.

To remove the seeds also removes the liquid, thereby allowing you to control the saturation of your recipes.
